Readers of The Hearing Blog may have noticed we are Big Fans of Dr Dana Suskind at Comer Children’s in Chicago, both because of her skill as a surgeon and also her groundbreaking failure analysis as to the “why” of poor pediatric CI outcomes seemed to be tied to parents income level: This led to her Thirty Million Words research project, applying Six Sigma quality assurance principles to the results; and also authoring Thirty Million Words: Building a Child’s Brain.
Dr Suskind will have an author’s discussion and book signing with opening remarks by Mayor Rahm Emanuel this coming Monday, September 21st from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM CDT at the Maker Lab at the Chicago Public Library Maker Lab, 400 South State Street. Dr Suskind also announced on her Facebook page for anyone who plans to attend, there is also a private reception prior to the event starting at 9:30 AM, and she would love to include you all as well.
